Born in Ballymoney in Northern Ireland, latest signing Andrew Dickson inevitably rose through the ranks to progress into the Belfast Giants junior programme. In 2007/08 he featured in the Irish Ice Hockey League with the Belfast City Bruins before finding his way to the Junior Belfast Giants (also known as the Tesco Belfast Giants), playing out of the Dundonald Ice Bowl the following year. By 2009/10 the young goalie had switched to Scotland and was a prospect for the Edinburgh Capitals managing to take to the ice in an Elite League encounter against the senior Belfast Giants and conceding just twice in the final period as his side slipped to defeat away from home. His opposite number at the other end of the rink that evening was Nathan Craze who has since recommended Andrew Dickson to the club and the shot stopper now joins the Dynamos in the ENIHL with a view to securing more ice time.
